How to make $100 a day with Adsense

Riggghtttt, I’ve not really tried this out but it’s just a theory.

Article marketing. People write articles and publish them. They usually include a link at the bottom to get some traffic and some link juice. These articles are free to find. Check out sites such as http://ezinearticles.com to find them.

Think of a niche, any niche

Before we get started you have to think of a niche. A niche which will be popular but not have too much competition. Look up the search volume and relative competitiveness of the keywords using the Google Adwords tool. Once you’ve found a niche it’s on to step two.

Get reading

Now you’ve found your niche you should buy a domain name with keywords relating to the niche. Once  you’ve done that it’s time to get content writing. I’d recommend using WordPress as a content manager. Simply download the plugins such as the All-in-one-seo plugin to make sure your site is adequate.

Now the smart part. Head over to these article websites and type in keywords related to your niche. Once you’ve done this look at the titles of the articles and choose those which are likely to be popular. Choose around 10 to start with. Once you’ve got these 10 articles copy them to word. Rewrite them in your own words. Research around the article too to add some more depth and increase the usefulness.

Publish your new articles on your site and submit each article to social bookmarking sites.

Kick back and enjoy as your site will climb the ranks and earn you adsense. You some adsense ready blog templates to make the whole thing even easier. Once you have done one site, choose another niche and make another site. Do one site a day and you’ll soon have a collection of top quality adsense targetting websites.

Good luck and let me know how it goes.

Page Rank? Should we care about it

So, you’re new blog has finally reached a page rank of 3, now what? Don’t kid yourself here. Yes you have begun to climb the magical ladder to page rank heaven but will your site suddenly explode into the next Google or Facebook because of it?

No, of course not.

I’m writing this post more out of personal frustration more than anything. This is for all those people new to the SEO world who are convinced that Page Rank is a symbol of success. My main point to this post is to say that to be successful, you don’t necessarily needa high PageRank.

What is Google Page Rank?

“PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page’s value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves “important” weigh more heavily and help to make other pages “important”.”

So Google Page Rank is a measure of this weight. It measures how much weight a link from your site has. A link from a PR 7 site is therefore ‘supposedly‘ more important than a link from a PR3 site.

How can I check my Page Rank?

The best way to check your google page rank is by downloading the Google Toolbar from http://toolbar.google.com/. This toolbar has a button on it which will show the page rank of the page currently being browsed. To get this button up click the “settings” button then go to “select options”, then choose the “More” page and browse to “even more buttons” and finally add the “PageRank and Page info” button.

When building backlinks

What I’m trying to say is that when building backlinks do not focus solely on the Page Rank of the site you are putting your link on. The truth is that the relevancy of the site linking to you will be a lot more important. Say your site was a site about bathrooms. If you pursuaded people with Technology blogs to link to your bathroom site then the weight those links will carry will be low. There will be little or no relevancy.

Focus on relevant backlinks

How to access cpanel behind a firewall

Sorry I have not posted in a while, but there is a good reason for this. I will tell you the problem I had and how I managed to get round it.

I am now at university.

The university system is absolute bollocks. After phone calls with the IT support I managed to get online. I went to check my websites and of course the firewall had blocked cpanel ports.

To get round this I had to some searching.

How to access cpanel behind a firewall at work or university

Cpanel does not naturally work through ports 80 so these are the ones we have to unblock.

There are several ways you can do this. The easiest would be to go on a webproxy but this is not the best way. Web proxies are often very dodgey. Also they are usually filtered by the network. This is the best way if you are using your work or school computer as it allows you to access cpanel behind a firewall without downloading anything.

Another way is to download CpanelProxy which is a program which you install server side. Here is how you do it:

  1. Load cPanel via web proxy.
  2. Add a subdomain, called it “cpanel”.
  3. Download cPanel proxy (Thanks to myplacedk for writing the script!)
  4. Upload the script cpanelproxy.php to the /public_html/cpanel/ directory.
If firewall blocks your FTP tools (like File Zilla), you can use web ftp net2ftp or FireFTP in Firefox.
  5. Modify/upload the file .htaccess /public_html/cpanel/ to include the following 3 lines:

    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/cpanelproxy.php
    RewriteRule .* /cpanelproxy.php [last]

If Windows doesn’t allow you to rename the file as .htaccess (because file is not allowed to have no name), do it in your server.

What’s next?

That’s it! Now use cpanel.yourdomain.com to log in cPanel.

Still can’t access cpanel behind a firewall?

Do what I did. Download hotspot shield from here

Just follow the installation instructions, right click the icon and click connect. You’ll now be able to access cpanel. This is the best way. Took me five minutes to access cpanel.

This blog is not just about making money online and boring things like that. It’s here to entertain as well.

We’ve all heard of breathing in helium to get your voice high pitched. But what happens when you breathe in something 6x heavier than air.

Introduction

Hello and welcome to The Student Blogger. I’m a student who is blogging, hence the name.

I’m 18 years old and studying at university. This is full time which is why I have decided to turn to the internet for help. Follow me as I work my way around the web searching for ways to make money.

I’m not just doing this for the money. I’m doing it for fun mainly. It will be a learning experience and who knows what will come from it.

Want to follow me? Why not subscribe to the blog and bookmark this page. I’ll try to post at least once a day. Stay with me, you might learn something. This is a blog which is different to those of others. It assumes you have no previous knowledge of internet workings. It’s aimed and people who just know how to point, click and type. However, I will hopefully help people that have more experience.

I have a target. That target is to make £1000 by Christmas. Read this blog and see if you can meet this target before me.

This is getting exciting. Check back tomorrow at TheStudentBlog.com for more!

Take care,
